Shallow Water 200m Trieste 1

In spring 2007, OGS acquired a shallow water SLOCUM glider (manufactured by Webb Research Corporation). It was named TRIESTE-1, after the famous bathyscaphe Trieste designed by August Piccard in the 1950's. After having performed different missions in December 2009 we lost the communication with TRIESTE-1 in the area South of Cyprus. His last mission was over a month long. The TRIESTE-1 was designed to measure temperature, salinity, oxygen, turbidity and chlorophyll fluorescence.
