Adopt a drifter
Students from Italian schools abroad can adopt a drifter, a floating buoy that drifts along surface currents in the Southern Ocean, with the aim of tracking a water mass to observe over time where it moves and at what speed. They will be able to monitor the Southern Ocean in real time through observation and analysis of data collected by the buoy. The school's name and a message chosen by the students will be written on the buoy to share with anyone who encounters it along its path.
If you are a teacher, please share your contact details or those of your school at this address: maos_drifter@ogs.it
